From cowboys and Indians to the modern rodeo and Wrangler jeans, riding horseback has become ingrained into the minds of the public as a prototypically "western experience". And, a vacation in West Yellowstone is just the place to explore this facet of the west.
Rides can range from one or two hour excursions into the forest to half, full or multi-day trips in the backcountry. Some outfitters even include a full-blown cowboy cookout at the ranch to top off a day in the saddle.
