Getting to West Yellowstone is a lot easier today than it was
back in the first years of the park when foot, horseback or stagecoach were the only ways in!
Today, US highways 191, 287, and 20 are open year round. The road into Yellowstone is open from May until November for automobiles and from December into March for snowmobile traffic.
Although West Yellowstone may be many miles from the nearest major metropolitan area, that's part of the appeal and getting here can be a pleasant adventure by land or a short flight by air.
