West Yellowstone is the year-round gateway to Yellowstone Country. The familiar name conjures visions of natural wonders such as geysers, waterfalls, lakes and streams, grizzly bear, buffalo, trout and wolves.
West Yellowstone is located in the southwestern corner of Montana, just 1.5 miles from Wyoming and eight miles from Idaho. Our town borders Yellowstone National Park and is the West Gateway. Many consider West, as the locals call West Yellowstone, the "Hub of the Yellowstone Country" due to its convenient central location to the park
While you are here, we encourage you to explore all the area has to offer, both Yellowstone National Park and the communities and wildlands west of the park.
